Step 3: In the Carrier Information window, from drop-down menu select your Device (iPhone in our case) and then find your carrier from Carrier drop down menu. You can also see an instruction on the left side how to locate the number. Step 2: In the next window you will need to add your Carrier Version Number and click Next. Step 1: Launch the CarrierEditor on your Mac, and then click on Let’s Get Started button. Once the app is up and running on your Mac continue following the steps below. To make this change possible we will need a small app called CarrierEditor ( download from here) which is unfortunately available only for Mac users (hopefully it will come on Windows soon). Luckily there are few good customization options that don’t involve jailbreaking your device, and one of them is a possibility to change carrier logo located on iPhone status bar. You can then go to the next screen and customize your logo by dragging a photo into the available boxes.If you are one of those iPhone users who like to personalize their devices as much as possible then you probably know you have to jailbreak your iPhone. CarrierEditor for Mac lets users with iOS devices change the icon that's displayed for their wireless carrier. Next open iTunes and hold down the alt/option key and select 'Restore iPhone'. Open the new carrier file CarrierEditor placed on your desktop and wait for iTunes to update. Finally, reboot your iPhone and your new icon should appear. The app is easy to use, but unfortunately, it didn't work for us. We're not ones to really fiddle around much with our iPhone 5's display, so we were a little nervous about trying CarrierEditor for Mac. It ended up being incredibly easy to use, with a wizard-style interface that walked us through each step of the process. We were first instructed to select a new icon to use in place of our phone's existing carrier logo. A quick Google search turned up a suitable-looking skull icon that we thought would be fun to try. We just dragged and dropped the new icon onto CarrierEditor's interface and it created a new IPCC file. We then followed the app's instructions to hold the "Alt" key while clicking the "Restore iPhone" button in iTunes. CarrierEditor is a application used to manage carrier settings of gadgets. We restarted our phone, as CarrierEditor had suggested this might be necessary, but our usual logo was still there. We tried the process several more times, synching and restarting in between, and nothing happened. Carrier Editor app comes with an included Zeppelin pack of logos but if you want to create your own personalised carrier logo here are some simple to. CarrierEditor doesn't include a Help file, so there was no way to troubleshoot. Although we weren't particularly excited about changing our carrier icon to begin with - the default logo suits us just fine - we do think it's a shame that an app that's so well designed and easy to use doesn't actually perform its stated function.ĬarrierEditor for Mac installs and uninstalls without issues.
